Welcome to OS-PE.org

You need to engineer a system FAST to capture your share of the market!

By the time that you have studied the current processes and methodologies, your project is also finished – most likely overspent and late with unhappy stakeholders missing the system features they asked for. Later you discovered that the system was thrown out because of the unhappy stakeholders, especially the regulator in the sector that the system was supposed to be used.

You have learned through expensive experience the latest features of the system development tool that the salesperson in your office is trying to sell to you is just that, a bunch of features!

  • How do you use those features to support shrinking system-development life cycles in ever escalating complexity?
  • How should you plan, organise, execute and control your project involving several disciplines and the integration of their deliverables into a working engineered system that meets stakeholder expectations?
  • How do I capture the experience of my current project for improving the next project?
  • If I invest time, translated eventually to money, in a tool (open source or commercial), will it really shorten my development time without compromising product quality?

OS-PE.org is an international scientific and engineering research co-operation between various disciplines investigating and specifying a systems solution for satisfying the above questions. The subject terms of science and engineering are used on this site without any apologies. The political correct and euphemistic terms used by politicians, managers, inspirational speakers and marketers, e.g. challenges instead of problems etc., is unnecessarily confusing and imprecisely defined in the engineering and scientific arena. Engineers and scientist are trained in dealing with clearly defined terms and their successes are measured in terms of the number of difficult problems solved.

OS-PE.org bases the solution on open source principles and all the work on this site is licensed under the Creative Commons Attribution-Noncommercial-Share Alike 3.0 Unported. This does not exclude the use of commercially licensed tools in the process in creating the OS-PE.org system.
